For the Weary Heart - Day 2

Psalms 73:26

  My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Dear Heavenly Father, 

  When I am weak, when I am heart broken, I am so glad that I can turn to You, knowing that You are my strength. That You are never weak, You are strong enough to have the entire universe on Your shoulders, and You can still carry my burdens too. Help me to never forget who to turn to in time of weakness.

Matthew 11:28-30

  Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  Thank You for allowing me to lay my burdens down at your feet. When I am weak, and in need of rest, I can rest in you. You are always there for me.

Mark 5:36

  As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  Christ said it so simple, "Be not afraid, only believe." It doesn't get much simpler than that. Help us to not be afraid, and when we do, we just need to remember that we already believed on You, and that we need to now trust You.

  But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

Dear Heavenly Father,

  In the cushy world I have the privilege to live in, it is easy to just go with flow, blend in the crowd.  But in not standing out, and not standing up for You, and speaking You name boldly, I will never understand what it is like to truly suffer for "righteousness' sake".   The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?  The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  You always have my back. So, no matter what this world has to throw at my, I don't have to worried, or anxious, or afraid. Because, You have me in the palm of Your hand, and You already promised that You will always be protecting me and taking care of me.  Thank You

Psalms 46:1

  God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  When I am in trouble, You are there. When I am weak, You are my strength. When I fall, You are there pick me up again. Whenever I call out to You, You are always there. Even when I am not worthy to be calling out to You, You always answer. Thank You Lord for always being there for this unworthy child.

Overcoming Anxiety - Day 25

Deuteronomy 31:6 

  Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Dear Heavenly Father

  You didn't leave Your children wondering around the desert for 40 years without protection, why would I think You not looking after me too? Lord, help my last trust become stronger, so that I can become stronger and more courageous for You.

  In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  Help me remember that all I have to do is put my faith and trust in You, and that I will always have a safe place to turn when I am feeling overwhelmed, or anxious, that You are my place of refuge.

Psalms 27:1

  The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Dear Heavenly Father,

  I have You, so I have no reason to be afraid. But because my flesh is week, I am afraid, and I worry more than I should.  Help me remember that You are my Light. Help me to remember that You are my strength. Because of You I have no reason to fear or worry.

Matthew 6:34

  Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  Help me remember that today is all I have to think about. You have given me today, let me be happy and content with that. You never promised tomorrow, so why worry for what hasn't even happened yet.  Thank You for today, help me remember to praise You for what I have today.

Dear Heavenly Father,

  Thank You, that no matter what's going on currently in my life, whether the highest mountain, or the lowest valley, I don't have to be afraid.  Because You have promised that wherever I am You are with me, and I can take comfort in knowing that.

  With the digital age that we are currently living in, with information at my fingertips, I sometimes feel like my I have a million thoughts going through my brain at once.  Lord, help me slow down, and take comfort, and delight in You. Knowing that You have kept this world spinning for thousands of years, I can trust You to keep it going for the short time I'm on it
